DVB underground network
Every day Burma's underground journalists break the silence to show the world what happens behind the iron curtain of Burma. Formed in 1992 and run by Burmese expatriates, the Democratic Voice of Burma (DVB) feeds off a network of undercover reporters who smuggle information to offices in Thailand and Oslo. This is then broadcast via radio and satellite TV back into Burma to counter the regime’s propaganda.
This photo-story by award-winning photographer James Mackay captures the work of Burma's VJ network in their secret offices on the Thai-Burma border.
